Willie Brann Pipes, Jr, 88, of Stephenville, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 1, 2010 at Stephenville Funeral Home with Robert Pipes officiating. Interment will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Willie Brann was born April 22, 1921 in Hamilton to the late Willie Brann and Julia Pauline Duke Pipes, Sr. He married Alta Lois Moody, March 2, 1946 in Stephenville. Willie was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ where he served as Deacon for over 40 years. He retired in 1987 as superintendent of maintenance at Tarleton State University after 26 years of service. Willie was a life long resident of Erath County. He is survived by wife, Alta Lois; son, Willie Brann and wife Marilyn Pipes, III of Stephenville; daughter, Deborah and husband Mike Robinson of Stephenville; grandchildren, Melissa and husband Brent Divin of Stephenville, Michelle Smith of Lindale, Scott Robinson of Stephenville, and Marlena and husband Michael Battenfield of Goldthwaite; great grandchildren, Allison and Elizabeth Divin, Wesley Smith, Jace Robinson, Ryan Stephens, Hailey and Brooklyn Battenfield; brothers, John and wife Mary Pipes of Gainesville; James and wife Carol Pipes of Fort Worth, and Robert and wife Patsy Pipes of Cross Plains; sisters, Ann Burgess of Georgetown, Dorothy and husband Billie Hensley of Stephenville; Martha and husband Ted Ogle of Nairobi, Kenya, Africa; and sister-in-law, Betty Pipes of Houston; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles David Pipes; and by a grandson-in-law, Scott Smith. Family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to American Cancer Society, or to the charity of their choice.
