William Wallace Jones

William Wallace "Bill" Jones, age 91, went to his heavenly home March 26, 2022. He was born October 23, 1930 in Stephenville to the late William Arch Jones and Kathleen Wallace Jones.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Kathleen Welch.

Bill was a member of The Proud Birdmen, American Legion, Stephenville Masonic Lodge #267, The Scottish Rite, and past member of Hella Temple Shrine. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Stephenville and Rock Church Chapel in Bluff Dale.
He developed a yearning for flying at an early age, and got his private pilot's license at the age of 16. He went on to pursue a lengthy career, first as an aircraft mechanic, then as a pilot with Trans Texas Airways, retiring from Continental Airlines.

He is survived by his wife Decie Jones, son William Quinton Jones, daughter Sally Kathleen Beckner and husband James, and daughter Mary Ann Jones, as well as granddaughter Carrie Beckner and grandson Donovan Beckner, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Monday, March 28 at Rock Church Chapel, 6101 Rock Church Hwy. with Rev. Howard Martin and Rev. Boots Hubbard officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00 before the service at Rock Church Chapel. Interment will follow the service at West End Cemetery in Stephenville with Masonic Rites to be rendered.
