William Jackson Frazier passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Senior Care Centers of Stephenville. Jack was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and lived in Kansas City, Missouri until he enlisted in the Navy at age 17. He participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy Beach during World War II. After military service, Jack worked for the Corps of Engineers. While working in Texas he met and married Alys Lafayette McLaughlin in 1951. While raising their family in Garland, he was active as a Boy Scout leader and was awarded the Silver Beaver award, the highest award given to an adult in scouting. Jack loved hunting and his family, and was a wonderful father. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alys of Lufkin; son, Charles Richard and wife Janie McMillion of Stephenville; daughters, Alys Jean and husband Billy Ray of Lufkin and Carol and husband Mike Riley of Lufkin; brother, Charles E. Frazier of Washington, Missouri; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William Jackson Frazier, Jr. A memorial service for Jack will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Cyprian Episcopal Church in Lufkin, Texas Services under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home
