Willard Allen "Jake" Brock

Willard Allen "Jake" Brock, 90, of Stephenville passed away Thursday December 27, 2012 in Stephenville. Services for Jake will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Curt Plaxco officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery and Jake's grandsons will be his pallbearers. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:30-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Jake was born to William Andrew and Ora Mae Potter Brock on August 27, 1922 in McClain County, Oklahoma. In 1934 Jake's dad bought land in Terry County near Brownfield, Texas and moved the family. He married Ola Mae Justiss on August 8, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas and attended Texas Tech University until he enlisted in the Army in October 1942. Jake served in the Asia Pacific area during World War II. After the war Jake returned to his wife and daughter to help his dad on the farm. In 1947 Jake moved the family to Erath County to help his dad build a dairy on Pidgeon Road north of Stephenville. In 1965 Jake sold the dairy and moved into town and opened Jake's Automotive Repair Shop. He worked there until he sold the business in 2006. Jake is survived by his wife, Ola Mae of Stephenville; 2 daughters, Donna and husband Harvey Spross of Waco, Diana and husband Mike Stasey of McKinney; 2 sons, Dale and wife Mary Jo Brock of Alvarado, Dwain and Lynne Brock of Lampasas; 7 Grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. Jake was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Allen Chandler Brock and Tana D'Anne Spross Heckel. Memorial may be made to the Church of the Nazarene.
