Willa Mae Byrd

Willa Mae Byrd, 89, of Lipan, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Cartwright officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Willa was born August 7, 1919 in Hannibal to Grover Cleveland and Helen Gertrude Byrd. She married Glen Aubrey Byrd on December 23, 1947 in Mineral Wells. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. She lived in Lipan for the past 10 years, after previously living in Mineral Wells and Stephenville. She is survived by her son, Stanley Byrd and daughter, Jan Brashear, both of Lipan; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
