Weldon Northcutt

November 21, 1922 — March 7, 2015

Kenneth Weldon Northcutt, 92, of Stephenville, passed away Saturday, March 7th at his home in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 11th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Russell White officiating. Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Weldon was born on November 21, 1922 to the late W.E. and Cynthia Northcutt in the Board Church Community in Comanche County. He graduated from Gustine in 1940. After graduation he volunteered to serve in the Army Air Force from October 1942 until December 1945, serving 17 months in the China, Burma, and India area. He was in the 347th Combat Cargo Unit, guarding the supplies as they were flown over the Himalayas. Weldon met and married the love of his life, Martha Nell Vines, March 2, 1944. To this union was born two children, a son, Ladoytt and a daughter, Lilly Fay. He was a retired farmer and cattle rancher and a member of Victory Baptist Church. Weldon loved his church family, serving as a deacon for 35 years, beginning in 1952. Weldon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Martha; son, Ladoytt and wife Letha Northcutt of Proctor; grandchildren, Lisa and Juan Martinez of Comanche, Kim and Josh Walker of Magnet Cove, AR, Landon and Jill Northcutt of Stephenville; great-grandchildren, Hunter Rice, Hope and Sam Palmer, Lilee, Logan, and Gabby Walker, Ashley and Andrew Cummins, Austin and Alyssa Northcutt, Jaden Roberts, Colton Roberts, Daniel Martinez; great-great-grandchildren, Madeline Palmer, Henley Cummins, Xander and Barrett Moeller, Xalee and Bandy Moeller; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; plus many, many friends. In addition to his parents, Weldon was preceded in death by his daughter, Lilly Fay; and two brothers, Rector and Harold Northcutt.
