Wayne Bear

Robert “Wayne” Bear, 93 years of age, passed away on November 7, 2024 at Legacy Estate in Comanche, TX. Graveside service will be will be held at Garden of Memory Cemetery between Dublin and Stephenville, TX on Tuesday, November 12, at 2 PM.

Wayne was born in Comanche County, Texas on May 9, 1931, the son of Charlie and Lois Bear. Wayne lived most of his life in Comanche and Dublin and married Alma Faye Tinney on June 28, 1952 in Dublin, TX where they made a home and raised their 2 children.

Wayne was owner/operator of Sunset Shell Service Station, Dublin Tire Shop and the Independent Trucking Business in Dublin for many years. After retiring, Wayne and Alma moved to Glen Rose, Texas. Wayne and Alma were married for 47 years, until Alma’s passing on September 4, 1999.

Wayne is survived by daughter, Brenda Kay Bear Allen, and husband Ted Allen of Granbury, TX and son Gary Wayne Bear and wife Shanna Bear of Comanche, TX, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Wayne was also preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lois Bear, and brother, Harold “Rusty” Bear.
