Wanda Maxine Dowell

Wanda Maxine Dowell, 77, of Huckabay, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Stephenville Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 1st at Stephenville Funeral Home with Dale Pugh and Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Huckabay Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Wanda was born on November 1, 1937 in Stephenville to the late J. T. and I. V. McDougle Young. She married Dalton H. Dowell on March 12, 1955. He preceded her in death January 12, 2013. For over 25 years Wanda managed the school cafeteria for the Huckabay ISD. She was a lifelong resident of Erath County. Survivors include sons, Michael Dowell, David and wife Tammie Dowell, and Gary and wife Carol Dowell; daughter, Marcia and husband Kevin Wood; grandchildren, Josh and wife Courtney Dowell, Chanda and husband Brad Reed, Shantell and husband Caleb Johnson, Jeremy and wife Lacie Harris, Danielle and husband Stephen Mees, Kaitlyn Dowell, Dalton Dowell, Zack Wood, and Caleb Wood; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Wayland and wife Patricia Young; and sister, Darlene and husband Floyd McCoy. Wanda was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Young; and a grandson Jared Dowell
