Virginia Ruth Hunter April 27, 1932-February 2, 2017 Virginia Ruth Hunter was a loving "Mama", wife, sister, "Maw-Maw", great-"Maw-Maw", friend, and child of God. Virginia peacefully passed away, into the arms of her Heavenly Father, on Thursday February 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 7th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at East Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday. Virginia was the youngest of four children, giving her the nickname, "babe". She was born to Dee Samuel Williams and Belva Ruth Gaither Williams on April 27, 1932 in Stephenville, Texas. After her mother's passing when Virginia was only 12 years old, she lived with her older sister, Fayteene Hallmark. She grew up and went to school in Morgan Mill, Texas. Virginia married Norman Hunter on April 6th, 1951 and together they made a beautiful life in Stephenville, raising two daughters, Kathy and Donna. Virginia was an active member of Stephenville Primitive Baptist Church. Virginia showed her love for her family and friends by cooking their favorite food. She was a excellent cook, quilter, seamstress, and pet lover. Her favorite retirement activities were playing dominos and cards at the Stephenville Senior Center, reading, and taking care of her beloved dog, Marley. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman Hunter in April 2010, sister, Fayteene Hallmark, brother Neil Williams, and sister, Maugurete Jo. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy and husband Randy Armstrong of Keller, Texas, and Donna Gore of North Richland Hills, Texas, four grandchildren, Jason Knight of Grapevine, Texas, Brooke and husband Kenny Boren of Wichita Falls, Texas, Magen Gore and husband Robb Williamson of Weatherford, Texas, and Austin and wife Lindsey Knight of McKinney, Texas. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Lily, Blaire, Harper, Blake, Greyson and Beckett. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Stephenville, Texas and she will be missed by many. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman Hunter in April 2010, sister, Fayteene Hallmark, brother Neil Williams, and sister, Maugurete Jo.
