Verona (Conner) Perkins

Verona Perkins March 29, 1918 - June 1, 2016 Verona Perkins, 98, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Granbury, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Beehouse Church in Beehouse, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 Saturday evening at Stephenville Funeral Home. Verona was born on March 29, 1918 in Bee House, Texas, to the late S.E. Conner and Lela Jones Conner. She married Doyle Perkins on October 9, 1938 in Bee House, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1990. Together, they owned and operated a small neighborhood grocery store in Stephenville, Texas. They also brought two wonderful children into the world, Robert and June. Verona loved to paint landscapes and flowers and was a very talented artist. She also spent many weekends enjoying the lake with her family. She was a member of the Stephenville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, June Perkins of Granbury, Texas; sister, Mollie Schulze and husband Jim of Granbury, Texas Besides her parents and husband, Verona was preceded in death by a son, Robert Perkins and wife Linda along with their two children Cindy and Kristie. Memorials may be made to the Bee House Cemetery Association at 2143 County Road 155, Gatesville, Texas 76528.
