Vernon "Dale" Matlock

Dale Matlock, 56, of Stephenville, passed away Saturday March 1, 2008 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2008 in the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Morgan Mill Cemetery in Morgan Mill. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Dale was born on June 10, 1951 in Brownwood to the late Daniel V. Matlock and to Dorothy Griswold Matlock. He married Lynn Watson on May 7, 1976 in Brownwood. Dale worked in the Oil Field for Halliburton Services, FMC, and SPM for 25 years. Survivors include his wife Lynn Matlock; mother, Dorothy Matlock; two sons and wives, William and Sam Matlock of Stephenville; Paul and Susan Marshall of Brownwood; Grandchildren, Matthew, Jasmaine, Alex, Taylor and Abby; sister and brother-in-law Danette and Don Wood of Stephenville; other survivors include sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Andy Young of Coleman; Don and Marie Watson of Tuscola. He was preceded in death by his father Dan; a son, Waylon and an infant brother.
