Velma Lee Parker

Velma Lee Parker, 79, passed away November 9, 2013 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Ben McCleery officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Stephenville, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the funeral home. Velma was born on August 7, 1934 in Stephenville, Texas to the late William Robert and Linnie Jewell Deffee Young. She married James Lawrence Parker on July 7, 1979 at Virginia City, Nevada. Velma worked as a nurse's aide and was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church, they have lived in Chickasha, Oklahoma for 14 years. Velma is survived by her devoted husband, James L. Parker of Chickasha, Oklahoma; her beloved sister-in-law Charlene Young of Stephenville, Texas; her children, Wendell & Sheryl Hunter of Alabama, Rita & John Mata of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Patricia & Ed Murphy of Monett, Missouri, Ronnie & Bonnie Hunter of El Reno, Oklahoma, Sandra DeLong of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Carolyn Harrera of Kansas, Lonnie & Tina Hunter of Calumet, Oklahoma; her step daughters, Jamie & John Throckmorton of Roseville,California, Sherry Flynn of Sacramento, California; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
