Van Charles Boucher, 45, a compressor mechanic for Southwestern Union Gas Services Tippet Plant at McCamey, died Wednesday March 11, 2009 in Odessa. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday March 14, 2009 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Van was born in Jal, NM to Ernest and Ruth Brown Boucher on December 24, 1963. He grew up in Jal, and the Leupp Indian Reservation in Arizona. He graduated from McLean High School in 1982, and attended West Texas State University, shorly after that he did summer plant work for El Paso Natural Gas, at the Panoma Plant, and then he worked for Phillips at Goldsmith. Van played all sports, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and arguing about football games with his brother Ernie. Survivors include his parents, Ruth and Ernest Boucher of Stephenville; sisters, Leslie and husband Johny Jones of Jal, NM; Laurie Vowell of Waco, and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Ernie Boucher, Jr., and a sister, Emily Boucher Silva.
