Trent Gay

Trenton ‘Trent’ Wayne Gay, 60, of Ranger, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Fort Worth.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the funeral home.

Trent was born on July 1, 1961 in Plainview to Bob and Pat Gay. He was a Masonry Contractor owning and operating Gay and Son Masonry in Stephenville.

Survivors include his mother, Pat Smith Gay of Stephenville; children, Tiffany Ward and husband Josh of Gorman, Trina Bivens and husband Jim of Ranger, and Chris Mims and wife Becca of Lingleville; sister, Cassidy Parker and husband Bradley Dwayne of Florida; grandchildren, Woodrow Bivens, Ian Smith, Aedan Mims, Sandy Suarez, Caitlin Coffman, Kyndall Mims, Madisyn Shaver, Braily Mims, Virginia Bivens-Lara, Mason Shaver, and Cooper Mims.

Trent was preceded in death by his father, Bob Gay; son, Dustin Mims; and a sister, Diana Gay Woodward.

As a family we had the honor, privilege and blessing of knowing Trent as a Son, Daddy, Papa, wise counselor and someone you can always trust and go to for guidance. If you were fortunate enough to get to know him, you know what a loving, giving, selfless, devoted, dedicated, thoughtful and hard working man, whose love was expressed in many kind ways to countless souls. He has taught us great wisdom, kindness, diligence and integrity and he was always investing in people. Jesus says in Matthew 22:37, “Love The Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment and the second is like it; Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Trent responded to Jesus’ command. Our entire lives we have watched him show God’s love to countless people, irregardless of who they were or what they had to offer in return.
