Tommy Brown, 83, passed away at Bridgewater Memory Care in Hood County on November 1, 2024. He was born on March 9, 1941, in Graham, Texas, to Benjamin James and Alta Mae (Cook) Brown. After school, Tommy went on to become a hard-working farmer and a truck driver, doing what he could to provide for his family. On June 4, 1960, he married the love of his life, Valera Jackson, in Jacksboro, Texas. They had a happy life together until her passing on August 7, 2020. Tommy was an active member of Highland Baptist Church.
Tommy is survived by his son, Kenneth Brown and his wife, Denise, his great great-granddaughter, Ivy Gilbert, and his sister, Bennie Henderson and her husband, Gary.
Tommy is preceded in death by his wife, Valera, his oldest son Larry Wayne Brown, as well as his two grandsons, Larry Wayne Brown Jr., and Dale Brown, and both of his parents.
A funeral service will be held in Tommy’s honor on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Stephenville Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Lingleville East End Cemetery, and Burt Atkins as the officiating minister. A visitation will be on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. also at Stephenville Funeral Home.
