Tommie Lou Riggs

Tommie Lou Riggs, 72, of Stephenville, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Danny Shearman and Ben McCleery officiating. Burial will follow at Pony Creek Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday. Tommie was born September 4, 1938 in Bosque County, Texas to the late William C. and Virginia Thornton McCleery. She married Bill Riggs on January 29, 1955 in Stephenville. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, and had resided in Erath County all of her life. Tommie worked at Swindles Jewelry for several years. She is survived by her husband, Bill of Stephenville; daughters, Billie Lou Hook and husband Johnny of Millsap, Penny Burk and husband Drew of Edmund, OK, Linda Morrison and husband Greg of Granbury; brothers, Scotty McCleery and wife Sue, and Kim McCleery all of Stephenville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Riggs in 2003.
