Thomas Ray Green

Sgt. Thomas Ray Green, 37, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Clifton and Brother Werth Mays officiating. Visitation: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday evening at Stephenville Funeral Home. Burial: Gardens of Memory in Stephenville under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Tom was born in January 17, 1971 to Roy Green and Linda Ray in Stephenville. He married Laurey Jones on September 18, 2004 in Kingsland, Texas. Tom was a life long resident of Erath County and a member of the Cowboy Church. Tom graduated from the Police Academy in 1991 and began working for the Erath County Sheriff's Department as a deputy. In his 15 years there, he was a Patrolman, K-9 handler, Sergeant, and was a part of the Special Crimes Narcotics Unit . He also had earned his Master Peace Officer certificate. Survivors include his wife Laurey Green; sons, Caden Ray Green and Ethan Wayne Green ; mother Linda Ray and husband "Hump" Henderson of Stephenville; father Roy Green ; sister, D'Anna Green ; two brothers, David Green and Jonathan Green ; grandmother, Edna Ray all of Stephenville. He is also survived by his in-laws, nephews, friends and his law enforcement family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Holly, his grandparents, Gordon and Cora Green and Waymon Ray.
