Sylvia Jane (Stocks) Melton Bryant

Sylvia Jane Stocks Melton Bryant, 76, of Stephenville, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Funeral services for Sylvia will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 23rd at Stephenville Funeral Home with Ronnie Shackelford officiating.  Burial will follow at Rock Church Cemetery in Hood County.  Visitation with the Bryant family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Sylvia was born on July 29, 1947, in Erath County to the late Floyd and Velma Jannie Jones Stocks.  She was a member of the Cedar Point Baptist Church, and was a lifelong resident of Erath County.  Sylvia loved the ‘farm’ life, and raising chickens.  She loved the outdoors, and spent much of her time growing flowers.  Sylvia spent 16 years employed at Walmart.

Sylvia is survived by her children Denise and husband Erik O’Bannon of Lipan, Darrell and wife Lisa Melton of Stephenville, David and wife Selena Melton of Lipan and Aaron Bryant and Ben McMillian of Temple; grandchildren, Shaina Cutler, Sean Herron, and Shelby Herron; Emily, Mitchell, and Ericka O’Bannon; Zack Miller, Brittany Arndt, and Evelyn Hardin; nine great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
