A graveside service will follow in Strawn, Texas. Officiating will be Pat Bush and Mike Hannah. Viewing will be Thursday evening 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Naomi Sue Buckner Speegle was born on February 20, 1932 in Borger, Texas where she lived for nearly 40 years before moving to Odessa. The last four years of her life she lived in the community of Bluff Dale. She is survived by her son Darrell (Kim) Speegle; daughter Brenda (Gene) Hemphill; five grandsons, Douglas Speegle, Wesley (Dalia) Hemphill, Cody Hemphill, Jarrod (Erin) Speegle and Aaron Burdett; one granddaughter Heather Massey; three great grandchildren Robby Massey, Uziel Marquez and Sophia Marquez; and her brother Jerry Buckner. She is proceeded in death by her husband Derwood, son Danny, and brothers Bob, Vernie, and Al Buckner. Sue graduated from Borger High School in 1949 and married Derwood Speegle in 1952. Her first job was as a soda jerk at the local Borger pharmacy where she learned to love working with the public. Even after becoming the busy mother of three she continued her work with the public when Derwood purchased the Borger Telephone Answering Service (as a surprise for Sue). She taught herself how to operate the PBX system and provide exceptional phone services to many Borger companies. When the Speegles moved to Odessa she and Derwood became garage sale entrepreneurs which eventually morphed into operating two successful booths at the Odessa Flea Market. After she moved to Bluff Dale she opened a booth at the 377 Market in Stephenville where for as long as her health allowed, she continued to wheel and deal using both wit and wisdom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
