Stena Hatcher

July 30, 1920 — January 11, 2012

Stena Hatcher, 91, of Stephenville, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM, one hour prior to services. Stena was born on July 30, 1920, in Valera in the Anderson Community in Coleman County Texas, one of ten children, born to the late Lemon Dee and Martha Ann Crossland Sides. She married Miler Woodlock on August 7, 1941 in Abilene. He preceded her in death February 19, 2002. Stena married Dr. Frank Hatcher, who also preceded her in death. Stena began her nursing career in 1940, and became a RN and Director of Nurses in a career that lasted over 60 years. She was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church, volunteered at HOPE, and taught bridge at Stephenville Senior Citizens. She lived several years in Lubbock and Fort Worth, and moved to Stephenville in 1982. The love and good deeds ‘DA' showered on us will be passed along through-out time. Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Mike ‘Woody' and wife Shelley Woodlock of Stephenville; brother, Chester and wife Thelma Sides of Coleman; grandchildren, Katherine Dee and Cynthia Rene? Woodlock, Tammie and husband Larry Griffin, April and husband Cole Edwards, and Michael Tim Maddux; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stena was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Chilton. Family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to St. Lukes Episcopal Church.
