Sean Steven Simpson (Guthrie)

Sean Steven Simpson (Guthrie), 43, of Dublin passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by family on December 4, 2024.

Sean was born on February 3, 1981 to Peggi Simpson in Proviso Township, Illinois. Sean was raised by his loving mother and stepfather Peggi and Tim Guthrie. He moved to Texas in 1993, where he made his home in Stephenville. He married Angel Brooks on May 23, 2008.

Sean began working at Saint-Gobain Abrasives in 2007, where he worked his way up from a machine operator to a customer service representative. During his time there, he met many people with some whom he made lasting friends with throughout the years.

Sean loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music, singing, cooking and grilling. He loved history, talking about politics, and trying to make you laugh. He lived by his grandmother’s words to always do what you’re supposed to do and when you’re supposed to do it as a guide to happiness. He instilled a passion for all of these things within his family members.

Sean was preceded in death by his mother and father, Peggi and Tim Guthrie. He is survived by his wife, Angel; siblings Matthew and Tiffany Guthrie, Valerie and Gary Moody, and Ryan Guthrie; in-laws Keith and Tamantha Brooks, Elizabeth and Jason Evans, Lisa Satterwhite, Conner and Alex Brooks, Taylor and Lexi Brooks, Jarrett Brooks, Zachery Brooks, and Reann Weaver; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Sean’s memory for family and close friends at a date later to be announced.
