Scotty J. Mccleery

Scotty J. McCleery, 68, of Stephenville passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Chalk Mountain Cemetery with Ben McCleery officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Stephenville Funeral Home. Scotty was born on August 31, 1945 to the late William Clarence and Virginia Thornton McCleery in Stephenville. He married Sue L. Forson on December 29, 1964 in Brownwood. Scotty early on worked in law enforcement with the Stephenville Police and Erath County Sherriff's Departments. He later owned and operated Scotty McCleery Dirt Contracting. Scotty was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Scotty is survived by his wife, Sue McCleery of Stephenville; sons, Ben McCleery and wife Kris of Stephenville, Cody McCleery and wife Leslie of Poolville; brother, Kim McCleery of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jordan McCleery Morgan McCleery, Casey McCleery, Roy McCleery Memorial may be made in Scotty's honor to the American Diabetes Association P.O.
