Ruth J. Strickler

Ruth J. Strickler, 79 of Marietta, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 04, 2008, in Stephenville, Texas, at a local hospital. Ruth was born, August 19, 1928, in Marietta, Ohio, to the late Oscar Gibson and Bertha Mae Hill Carver. She married William E. Strickler, January 17, 1948, in Gallipolis, Ohio. He preceded her in death December 5, 1975. Ruth graduated from Marietta High School in 1947. Ruth spent most of her life in Marietta, living for 2 years at Jaycee Estates before moving close to her daughter in Stephenville, Texas in October of 2007. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and husband Ken Pedrick of Ashland, KY and Teresa Strickler of Stephenville, TX; daughter-in-law, Beverly Strickler of Marietta, OH; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son, William E. Strickler; and by four brothers, Earl Carver, Denver Carver, Vernon Carver, and Larry Carver Ruth's body was cremated, and a memorial service will be set at a later date.
