Ruth Irene Jackson

Ruth Irene Jackson, 86, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday January 27, 2008 in Wheeler, Texas. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday January 31, 2008 at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, Texas. Stephenville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ruth was born on December 3, 1921 in Erath County to the late Thomas Lee and Lela Driver Hinton. She married Pruitt W. Jackson on May 29, 1942 in Erath County and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1996. Ruth resided in Stephenville most of her life graduating from Stephenville High School in 1939. She moved to Wheeler in 1999. She worked for Safeway stores for 20 years and was a craft instructor for TMHMR in Vernon. Ruth also sewed, quilted and painted. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Jackson and wife Frankie of Wheeler; daughters, Angela Boyd and husband Clarke of Lakeside City, and Shirley Brooks of Midland; 6 grandchildren, Tony Jackson, Jessica Rubio, Tyler Boyd, Jeff Brooks, Patrick Brooks, and Michelle Wood; and eleven great-grandchildren.
