Ruth Blakey Atterbury, 88, of Benbrook, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 in Fort Worth.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at West End Cemetery with Frank Briscoe officiating. The family will host a visitation from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday, November 9, at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Ruth was born February 16, 1930 in Lamesa, Texas to the late J.M. and Cleon Moreland Blakey. She attended school in Lamesa and graduated from Lamesa High School. Ruth married Lewis B. Atterbury in Seagraves, Texas on August 1, 1947. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ in Stephenville for fourteen years. She had resided in Benbrook for the last three years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lewis Atterbury of Benbrook; daughters, Vickie Peach and husband Fil of Benbrook, Brenda Evitt and husband Milton of Abilene, and Rhonda Adloo and husband Ahmad of Lewisville; son, Vin Atterbury and wife Suzan of Joshua; sister, Jody Pruitt of Graham; grandchildren, Courtney Moseley and husband Mike, Jason Thompson, Chad Brothers and wife Lara, Hilary Allen and husband Kris, MacKenzie Johnston and husband Richard, Austin Atterbury, and Andrew Atterbury, great grandchildren, Gavin and Conor Thompson, Lily and Melody Johnston, and Giacomo Brothers.

Ruth was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Reeves and Cathy Johnson.

The family asks memorials be made to Foster's Home for Children in Stephenville, PO Box 978, Stephenville, Texas 76401.
