Ruby Fay Jones

Ruby Fay Jones, 85, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 in Plano. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday July 18th, 2015 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. Ruby was born seven miles south of Claude Texas on the edge of Palo Duro Canyon to Emmet and Erma Roach Jones on April 20, 1930. During her child hood she lived in the Texas panhandle and then moved to a farm South of Claude before moving to Stephenville, Texas where she graduated from Stephenville High School in 1947. Ruby was a flag bearer for the Stephenville High School Band and attended Tarleton State University. She worked in the music department at Tarleton State before moving to Dallas in 1953 and started to work in the insurance industry. Her career spanned for over forty years. Ruby was a member of the Insurance Women of Texas and President of the Dallas chapter of the Insurance Women of Texas. Ruby was active in several Methodist churches as her family moved through Texas, including the White Rock Methodist Church and the First Methodist Church of Dallas. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and Hawaii. Ruby is survived by her brother, Dean Jones; sister-in-law, Sally Jones; cousins, Kerry Roach, Gene Byrd, Joyce Spencer and her husband Gene, Linville Fouts, Bobby Kennedy and his wife Janet and their son Ryan, Judy Sanders and her husband Cliff, and cousins, Boyse Jones and Boyd Jones.
