Ruby Jo Jones

Ruby Jo Jones was born April 7, 1919 in Erath County to John and Johnnie Ellison, and died on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Her passing was five days after her 95th birthday. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16th at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held beginning at 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. In 1937 she married Earl Fair of Erath County. From this union came two children, Bobby Jack Fair of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Shelby Jean Fair Tweedle of El Paso, Texas. Jo married Leland (Puddin) Jones of Stephenville in November of 1963. This marriage gave her a step-daughter, Joy Jones of Stephenville. Last year when her driver's license expired on her 94th birthday, she was advised to surrender her license, or take the driving test. She took the test, and did not just pass, she passed with flying colors! Jo is survived by her daughter, Shelby and husband Jim Tweedle; her son, Bobby; and by her step-daughter, Joy; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren; nephew, Eddie Ray Seals of Nashville, TN; first cousin, Ima Lee Fair of Stephenville, and a "nearly" nephew, Don and wife Patty Jones of Stephenville; and her beloved Kitty, Sugar Baby. Jo was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leland; and by a step-grandson, Bill Tweedle. The Jones family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Meals on Wheels, or a charity of the donor's choice. A special Thank You to Dr. Lester Ong, Dr. Dick Frazier, and the fabulous staff of Stephenville's Harris Methodist Hospital for the loving care bestowed on our "Big Momma".
