Ruby Irene Easterly

Ruby Irene Easterly July 13, 1925-October 19, 2015 Ruby Irene Easterly, 90, of Stephenville, died Monday, October 19, 2015 in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Huckabay Cemetery with Rusty Rose Officiating. Ruby was born on July 13, 1925 in Blanket to the late James Charles (Charlie) Hasty and Molly Victoria McGowan Hasty. She married John D. Easterly on April 3, 1943 in Ballinger and John preceded her in death on December 21, 2012. She was a member of the Graham St. Church of Christ. Ruby was a wonderful artist and painted many beautiful pictures for family and friends. She was also an excellent seamstress and quilter, and made many lovely quilts over the years, which her family will always treasure. Ruby loved gardening and spent many hours outside enjoying the birds and flowers. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be deeply missed by all of them. Survivors include her son, Greg Easterly of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Susan Weems and Linda Bell both of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jessica Easterly, Garrett Easterly, Molly Weems, Whit Weems, Chris Bell, Robert Bell, Robin Wells, and Renee Ortiz; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Rickel of Munday, TX. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; a son Jim Easterly; brother, Johnny Hasty; sisters, Charlene Ivey, and Billie Faye Humphries; and two great-grandchildren, Aspen and Ashley Bell.
