Roy J. Mayfield

Roy J. Mayfield, 91, of Dublin, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 in Dublin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin with Jimmy Holleman officiating. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Lingleville. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Roy was born on August 2, 1928 in Stephenville to the late Earl Clayton and Susie Chambers Mayfield. He married June Westerman in February of 1982 in Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on May 6, 2017. Roy was a driver for Dublin Dr. Pepper and worked for many years in sales with AMPI before retiring. He was a member of the Double N Cowboy church in Dublin and has resided all of his life in Erath County.
Survivors include his son Roy Lee Mayfield and wife Dianna of Comanche; daughter, Carolyn Taylor and husband Randy of Dublin; grandchildren, Jodie Emmit and husband Brett, Melanie Peters and husband Kenneth, Kimberly Stewart and husband Michael, Scott Taylor and wife Christianna, Kevin Mayfield, Angela Auvenshine and husband Jamie, Elizabeth Krey and husband Arcy, and Charles Birtch; sisters, Cleta Cox and husband Harold of Albany, and Tobie Johnson and husband Pat of Stephenville; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Clayton and Susie Mayfield; wife, June Mayfield; son Revis Earl "Poncho' Mayfield, and sister, Opal Lockhart.
