Roy Lee Magee

Roy Magee, 89, of Erath County, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Stephenville Funeral Home. Interment at Duffau Cemetery will follow. A visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Roy was born on November 2, 1926 in Dublin, Texas, to the late W.J. and Willie Ida LaBaume Magee. He married Wynona Herod on May 24, 1947, in Dublin. Roy served his country as a Merchant Marine on the U.S.S Sir Frances Blair. He retired from assembling helicopters at Bell Helicopter after 30 years. Roy has resided in Erath County for the past 20 years after living in Burleson. He was Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Wynona Magee; son, Alan Magee and wife Leslie of Ft. Worth; daughter, Marian Daugherty and husband Joe of Parker County; grandchildren, Chris Magee and wife Judy, Carl Commander, Brooke Commander, Lauren Magee, Patrick Daugherty and wife Betty; and 5 great grandchildren.
