Roy Lee Keeney

Roy Lee Keeney, 96, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Werth Mayes officiating. Interment will follow at Allard Cemetery in Erath County. Roy was born on December 1, 1911 in Erath County to the late J. F. Keeney and Fannie Martin Keeney. He married Ruth Dunson on February 28, 1962 in Las Vegas, and she preceded him in death on June 4, 1981. Roy served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a Baptist. Roy is survived by his brother, Whit Keeney of Stephenville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Banner, Jerdie, and Robert; and 2 sisters, Mary Keeney Fehl, and Posie Keeney Spindor. Memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehab.
