Roy Ed Griffin

Roy Ed Griffin, 68, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, December 30th, in Stephenville. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Brother Werth Mayes officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Roy was born June 5, 1946 in Stephenville, to Edgar and Selma Everett Griffin. He married Linda McGough on August 3, 1968 in Stephenville. Roy spent most of his life as a trucker and doing dirt work, was a member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County, and a lifelong resident of Stephenville. Roy is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Nathion and wife Julie, Paul and wife Neida; grandchildren, Zane, Dalton and wife Shyanne, Quade, Jaydi, Logan, Bryton, and Katelyn; sisters, Lois Cleborn of Hemphill, Ann Branch of Farmington, NM, Maxine Stubbs of Abilene; brother, Coyle Griffin of Dublin; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Harold Griffin; two sisters, Patsy Griffin and Shirley Thompson; and his father-in-law, Dan McGough. The Griffin family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Cowboy Church of Erath County, St. Jude's Children's hospital, or Cook's Children's Hospital.
