Roger Gray Mcnellie

Roger Gray McNellie, 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his home in Stephenville, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Roger was born May 21, 1930, in Cisco, Texas, to Nora Nellie Gray and William Charles McNellie. Roger was a long-term member of Graham Street Church of Christ and a retired employee of both Wolfe Nursery and Shannon's Supply. He was a capable man; he built the home that he shared with his family for 50 years and was known by his ability to fix things. His most marvelous achievement was his happy marriage of 63 years to Dorotha Lee Pack McNellie, surviving. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise Grady and Ruth Dickerson, two sons: Roger Bruce McNellie, married to Myra, and Barry Lynn McNellie, married to Kathy. Grandchildren are Kimbra and Ken Saxon, Carie and Ryan Wright, Krisha and Paul Brister, Kent and Scarlet McNellie, Travis and Melissa McNellie, and Tyler McNellie. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren. Roger's brothers Johnnie and Eugene McNellie preceded Roger in death. Roger reflected a life well lived. He will be missed by all. Memorials may be made in Roger's name to either Universal Health Services or Graham Street Church of Christ.
