Roger Witt Long

Roger Witt Long, 41, of Stephenville, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Stephenville Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Holston officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Roger was born on August 28, 1970 in Hico to Charles K. and Kathrine Hightower Long. He was a member of the Oak Dale Methodist Church, and was a life long resident of Stephenville. Roger is survived by his mother, Kathrine Long of Stephenville; sisters and brothers, Gaylene McKay of Gladewater, Trisha Lowry of Stephenville, Sherry Dawson of Gladewater, Matthew Dawson of Mineral Wells, Amanda Long of Farmersville, Patty Gerod of Waco, and Kenny Long of Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces and nephews including Joseph Tate of Stephenville and Lana and husband Ray Barnes of Stephenville. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Charles; and grandparents, Witt and Johnye Hightower. Roger was a loving devoted son. He loved his family, his pets, and the game of baseball. The Lord touched him and called him home. He will be missed by all his family and church.
