Rodger Clint Elston June 16, 1939-December 8, 2016 Rodger Clint Elston, 77, of Lingleville, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at School Hill Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Rodger was born on June 16, 1939 in Gorman, Texas to the late Ralph Jones and Aline Huffman Elston. He married the love of his life, Melba JoAnn Gryder on June 14, 1958 and they spent more than 58 years together. Roger was a class of 1957 graduate from Lingleville High School. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and resided in Erath County most of his life. Roger worked in manufacturing, carpentry, as an oiler on a crane building on Lake Proctor, at local cattle auctions, Texas Southwestern Cattle Raiser's Association as a brand inspector, as a Texas Animal Health Inspector, and for the US postal Service as a rural mail carrier. His main love, however, was ranching on the back of his horse looking at his cattle. He was the last of the old time cowboys. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Elston of Lingleville; daughters, Selena Elston Sparkman and husband Ricky of Stephenville, and Stacy Elston of Lingleville; grandchildren, Shandra Sparkman Harrel and husband Zachary of Gustine, Tanner Sparkman and wife Meagan Tucker of Stephenville, and Tyler Tuggle and Megan Gooch of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Evahlyn Grace Harrel of Gustine and Tucker Joe Sparkman of Stephenville; sister Joyce Fern Elston Sims and husband Don of Lingleville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins,
