Roberta Phillips Howard

Roberta Howard, 77, of Stephenville, died Sunday, February 23, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 26th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Roberta was born on September 3, 1936 in Fisher County, Texas to the late Dayton C. and Pauline Fletcher Phillips. She married William James (Bill) Howard on April 14, 1956 in Duffau. He preceded her in death November 1, 1999. Roberta attended First Baptist and Cedar Point Baptist Church, and was a seamstress and a retired farmer and dairyman. She lived most of her life in Erath County. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Howard Thurman and husband Jimmy of Stephenville; son, William James ‘Billy' Howard, III of Dalhart; granddaughter, Jennifer Denise Thurman of Cleburne; great granddaughter, Alexes Nacole Thurman of Cleburne; brother, Delas Phillips of DFW metroplex; sister, Lou Baker of N. Richland Hills; and several nieces and nephews. The Howard family request expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to St. Judes Children's hospital, or to the Shriner Hospital.
