Robert Lawrence Hancock

Robert Lawrence Hancock, 85, of Stephenville, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Lawrence was born on August 24, 1931 in Stephenville to the late Jack T. and Olene Bates Hancock. He married Norma Jean Hale On December 10, 1950 in Stephenville and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2004. He later married Peggy Louise Carver on March 31, 2007 in Stephenville and she preceded him in death on June 5, 2014. Lawrence has resided all of his life in Stephenville starting school n a little log cabin in Valley Grove. He served in the National Guard and worked as a Dairyman. Lawrence was a member of the Duffau Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons, Mike Hancock and wife Sandra of Stephenville, and John D. Hancock and wife Cathy Annett of Stephenville; step-son, James Carver, Jr. and wife Carolee; step-daughter, Connie Williams and husband George; grandchildren, John Russell Hancock, Robert Dustin Hancock, Jodi Lynn Hancock, Dana Michelle Coleman, Shana Anderson, Scott Hardin; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by and infant daughter, DeAnn; and a brother Jack W. Hancock.
