Robert Don Eakins

On October 15, 2024, the world lost a beloved member of the community with the passing of Robert Don Eakins.   Born on November 29, 1975, in Ranger, TX, Robert was a proud Texan through and through. A retired GW Wireline operator in the oil and gas industry and respected Captain of the Morgan Mill Volunteer Fire Department.

On September 13, 2005, Robert married Courtney Lynn Gray in Stephenville, TX, and had many memorable times with her until her unfortunate passing on August 8, 2014.

Throughout his life, Robert touched the hearts of many with his unwavering dedication to serving his community and his family. He was a loving son to Pam and Kenneth Eakins, a cherished father to Reese and Rhett Eakins, and a supportive brother to Terry, Kendale, and their spouses, Tara and Amber.

Robert's passion for firefighting and leadership shone brightly during his tenure as Captain of the Morgan Mill Volunteer Fire Department, where he selflessly served and protected those in need. His legacy as a trusted and courageous first responder will forever be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.  Even through passing, he is contributing to saving many lives through Life Gift organ donations.

A Public Viewing is scheduled to take place at Stephenville Funeral Home on October 20, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 10:30 am with a graveside service to follow at East End Memorial Cemetery.

Robert Don Eakins leaves behind a host of loved ones, including uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will continue to carry his spirit with them as they reflect on the impact he made in their lives. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Courtney, grandmother Monica Tate, cousin Bdreau Hale and Aunt Judy Couts.

In lieu of flowers, Robert's family request that donations be made to Morgan Mill Volunteer Fire Department in his honor.
