Richard Alderfer, 68, of Stephenville, died Friday, October 26, 2007, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 28, at the Graham Street Church of Christ, with Randy Daugherty, Don Parker, and Glenn Newberry officiating. Elders at Graham Street Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Monday morning at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Richard was born on September 10, 1939, in Sabetha, Kansas to the late Roy and Eva Strahm Alderfer. He married Jan Weston on June 1, 1959, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Richard has spent the last 45 years in the Air Conditioning service, owning and operating Alderfers Air Conditioning in Stephenville. He was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineer Society, a member of the Board of Directors for Foster's Home for Children, and a member of the Stephenville Optimist Club. Richard served in the U. S. Air Force, and was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ, where he has served the congregation as an Elder for the past 27 years. Richard and Jan have lived in Stephenville since 1973. He is survived by his wife, Jan; son & daughter-in-law, Rick and Lisa Alderfer of Stephenville; daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Randy Walker of Arlington; grandchildren, Keilah Walker, Weston Walker, Tyler Alderfer, and Travis Alderfer; a sister, Eula Swindale of Holton, Kansas; brother, James Alderfer of Centralia, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews He was also preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Alderfer.
