Recil Carlos Floyd

Recil Carlos Floyd, 88, of Stephenville, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at 2:30 pm Friday at DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Mr. Floyd was born on May 22, 1922 in Iuka, Mississippi to Arlander and Pinkie Ethel Floyd. He married Clara Williams on February 22, 1941 in Iuka, Miss. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2004. Recil served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He has resided in Stephenville since 2003 after previously living in Bonham, TX. He built aircrafts and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Bonham. Survivors include his children Louise Fuller of Stephenville; Martha Rodenroth of Benbrook, Sharon Vanover of Joshua, Sylvia McLeod of Mansfield, and Richard Floyd of Bluff Dale; he was also survived by fifteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mr Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; and two daughters, Lela Rowe, and Linda Floyd. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
