Ray Phelps, 67, of Alexander, loving husband, father, and grandfather, quietly passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 03, 2009. Ray was cremated, and at this time, no memorial services are planned. Ray was born January 15, 1942, in Moline, Illinois, to the late Lester and Alice Martens Phelps. He married Donna Spooner, August 18, 1958, in Holden, Missouri. Ray grew up in Holden, Missouri, and later moved to Norco, California, living there from 1960 until he moved to Alexander in 1973. He was a retired truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Donna; two daughters, Debbie Roberts of Stephenville and Deana and husband Eddie Schilb of Stephenville; son, Russel and wife Karen Phelps of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; brother, Ronald Phelps of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Best and Joann Sanders both of Blue Springs, Missouri; six grandchildren, Vince (Bo), Thomas, and Eric Schilb, Brandon and wife Beth Phelps, Chase Phelps, and Shea Roberts; and one great grandson, Eric Iskakovo. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and sister.
