R. J. Kerr

Stephenville R.J. Kerr, 89, of Stephenville, died Thursday, January 09, 2014 in Stephenville. Graveside service with Military Honors is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 12th at Oak Dale Cemetery in Erath County with Rev. Dale Cartwright officiating. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home R.J. was born on June 18, 1924 in Stephenville to the late James H. and Bess Sikes Kerr. He married Nell Barron on June 10, 1944 in Somervell County. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2012. R.J. served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in Japan. He was a lifelong resident of Erath County and worked as a dairyman and rancher. Survivors include his children, Judy Oliver and husband Leon of Arlington; Jim Kerr and wife Donna of Stephenville; grandson, Kyler Kerr. He was preceded in death by a brother Carroll Kerr.
