Philip Loy Price, 92, a Lingleville and Stephenville native passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 1st at Graham Street Church of Christ with Harry Brown and Don Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Philip was born on November 7, 1920 at the family home in Lingleville to the late Oran Dee and Stella Moss Price. He graduated from Lingleville High School and Tarleton State College. Philip joined the U. S. Army Air Force, and served his country during WWII stationed in the Phillipines. He married Nina Ruth Easley on June 29, 1942 in Comanche. Nina preceded him in death after 51 years of marriage on October 24, 1993. On August 26, 2011, Philip married Ann Mullin Walters in the Johnsville Community. After Philip left Tarleton State College he began his profession of Optometry attending professional school in Memphis, TN. He retired after 55 years, most of his time spent in practice in Stephenville. He later volunteered with HOPE, Inc. providing a helping hand to other people. Philip was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ, where he served many years as a deacon; and was a member of American Legion Post 240. Philip was a giant of a man, and was loved by many, and will be dearly missed. Philip is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Steve and wife Bobbie Price of Brownwood, Bill Walters, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Granbury, and David Walters of Bluff Dale; daughter, Suzan Price and husband Jerry Parker of Tyler; grandchildren, Nathan and wife Mary Price, Timothy Price, Jason and wife Tracy Parker, Brandon and wife Cara Parker, Bonnie May, Leesa and husband Matt Miller, Zachary Walters, and Cassidy and husband Heath Jennings; great grandchildren, Lindsi Price, Olivia Parker, Lilly Parker, Preston Parker, Kayla Lesley, Emily Lesley, and Jayden Lesley; and five nieces The Price family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the ‘Wounded Warriors Project', telephone 904-296 7530.
