Peggy Ruth Gooch

Peggy Ruth Gooch, 76, of Stephenville, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at a Stephenville Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, at Stephenville Funeral Home will Kenneth Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home Peggy was born, July 22, 1931, at Winchell, Tx in Brown County to the late John and Vida Marie Ferguson Jones. She married Earl Gordon Gooch, Sr., July 30, 1949 in Clairette. Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church, and had lived the past 60 years in Stephenville. She was a homemaker, and a child care provider for many years. Survivors include her husband, Earl Gooch, Sr.; sons and daughter-in-laws, Earl, Jr. and Regina Gooch of Stephenville, Ernie and Trena Gooch of Stephenville, John and Michele Gooch of Wimberley; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Steven Pepper of Stephenville; 4 sisters, Johnnie Marie Chancellor of Stephenville, Rosemary Chambers of Paradise, Gladys Keith of Abilene, and Joyce Baker of Brownwood; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Earlene Gooch in 1950; brother, Hubert Jones; and sister, Wanda Hughes. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
