Paul E. Whitsel, 78, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 20th at First Baptist Church of Stephenville, Texas, with Reverend Ken May officiating. Military honors will occur prior to burial at Erath Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, at Stephenville Funeral Home. Paul was born on February 15, 1938 in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania to the late Paul Russell and Alda Boozel Whitsel. He married Amelia Gonzales on August 23, 1975 in Grape Creek, Texas. Paul served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1955 until 1961 at Dyess AFB and was honorably discharged. He lived several years in Eastland, and spent the past 26 years in Stephenville. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stephenville and retired from Frito Lay Incorporated as a salesman. Paul is survived by his wife, Amelia Whitsel; children, daughter, Donna Whitsel of Merkel, daughter, JoAnn and husband Jose Rosado of Merkel, daughter, Dianne and husband Johnny Hernandez of Merkel, daughter, Linda and husband Billy Davis of Arlington, daughter, Laura and husband Dale Spurlen of DeLeon; son, Rudolph Roddie Whitsel of San Angelo, daughter, Michelle and husband David Ojeda of Duncanville, son, Mark Whitsel of Aubrey, and son Paul Russell Whitsel II of Lugoff, South Carolina; brothers and sister, Theodore J. and wife Betty Whitsel of Three Springs, PA, Ronald L. and wife Cindy Whitsel of Orbisonia, PA, Patricia M. and husband Ray Berrier of Orbisonia, PA, and Gregory M. and wife Robin of Orbisonia, PA; mother-in-law, Emma Gonzales of San Angelo; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Larry Whitsel.
