Paul Ray Kitchens

January 7, 1959 — June 17, 2022

Paul Ray Kitchens, was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, January 7th, 1959; he passed June 17, 2022.

He was the second son born to Paul S. and Velma (Rudloff) Kitchens.  He was followed by two more siblings and made sure they knew he was their big brother and he would always be there for them. As his big brother Joel was for him.  Not that they both didn’t pick on and terrorize them as well.

Ray, as most called him when he was young, loved all his family. Ray’s greatest joy was his son Jeremy, and then he had a granddaughter. Being called Grandpa was a whole new level for him;  Zoey, was his star shine and her Momma, Rachael was the moon. Truly he loved everyone: Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Friends, but he held a special place in his heart for his nephews and nieces and then their children as well.  In his later years he worked at being a grumpy old man, everyone saw through it the minute he grinned, but he never stopped trying for the title.

Paul Ray, was a worker. He started early and never stopped. He started out at his father’s electric business when he was in high school then went on to work in many different places. His last job was working for a company that installed conveyer belts, that had him traveling all around the United States. He had his own travel trailer that he made his home away from home. He made some good friends out on the road. But if you asked him; he would tell you quick, going home meant Texas.  The only time Texas was not on his mind was when they played Oklahoma, he was a Sooner fan always. He also enjoyed playing golf or watching it when he got the chance. And there was no other team than the Cowboys to watch on a Sunday afternoon.

Surviving him is his son Jeremy, daughter in love Rachael Kitchens and his granddaughter Zoey of Augusta GA; his Mother, Velma Kitchens of Brownwood, TX, his older brother Joel Kitchens of Stephenville, his younger sister Linda Mae Kitchens Gunn and husband Howard Gunn.  And many others; family and friends, who will miss him greatly.

Preceding him in death were his younger Brother, Robert Dale Kitchens; his Father, Paul Stewart Kitchens and his Sister in love, Debbie (Cook) Kitchens.

The family will host a visitation on Friday, July 1st  from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Please meet at the funeral home at 9:45 am July 2nd,  to be included in the procession to the gravesite for the Graveside Service at Oak Dale Cemetery, officiated by Joel Kitchens and  Johnny Hart.
