Patricia Ann Crosby
November 24, 1945 ~ December 23, 2018

Pattie (with "ie" not a "y") Crosby, 73, passed away in the early morning of December 23, 2018 at Pink Pattie's Palace in Stephenville, Texas. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 28 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Stephenville with her son Lance Crosby officiating.

Patricia Ann Cashon Crosby was born on November 24, 1945 to the late Thurman L. and Ruby Jewel Pogue Cashon in Stephenville. She attended Stephenville High School and graduated from Beauty College in Brownwood at the age of 18. Pattie gave birth to her first child, Kristel Yvette on Jan 4, 1967 and her only son Lance Trevor on April 24, 1970. Pattie was involved in every facet of their lives from beauty pageants, to tee-ball, to girl/boy scouts, football, basketball, baseball, Stingerettes, school, college and more. In addition to supporting her own children, she spent 13 years on the Stephenville Independent School Board as the only female member eventually taking the role of president before she retired from the board. Pattie was the swing vote when they hired a young energetic head coach named Art Briles. Pattie was a hairdresser all of her life, she loved to be around people, to hear the stories of the day, to spend time with friends and was known to spice up a story beyond the original facts. She loved Elvis, Bingo, Slot Machines, travel, and pretty much any song that gave her a reason to sing and dance. Pattie's travels took her to London, Paris, The Palace of Versailles, New York City, the top of the Empire State Building, Broadway, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Disneyland and more. Pattie's home was open to teenagers and college students as her children grew up. Often referred to as ‘my other mom" - Pattie's mission was to never give up on any child. Pattie was a proud member of First Baptist Church and a lifelong member of this community. Pattie was fun loving yet disciplined, optimistic yet pragmatic and always saw the good in people. She never met a stranger and the line between family and friends was razor thin.

Pattie started her second motherhood when her daughter gave birth to Jacqui and Jay. She loved her first set of grandchildren as if they were her own children. She was so proud of their accomplishments as they grew into young adults. Pattie was elated to become a grandmother but modified the moniker to - PattieHoney. A name that stuck for the rest of her life. Pattie was too glamorous and young to be a grandmother - PattieHoney was a better fit. She weighed 120 pounds and was 29 years old her entire life - if you didn't believe her, just ask her. She was happy to correct with a snappy sassy personality that was full of life and jokes.

Pattie is survived by her daughter, Yvette Quirl and husband Jason of Stephenville; son, Lance Crosby and wife Cheryl of Highland Park; brother, Larry Cashon of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jacqui Quirl of Stephenville, Jay Quirl of Stephenville, Trevor Crosby of Highland Park, Angelina Crosby of Highland Park, Taylor Crosby of Highland Park; great grandchild, Piper Quirl of Stephenville; favorite nephew, Jason Cashon and wife Kristin of Stephenville; favorite niece, Jennifer Gaudet and husband, Scott of Grapevine; her lifelong friend, Mari Hellen Gilley of Hico, and her close friend and travel partner in games of odds - Judy Lockhart.

As she said her final goodbyes, she had one last request. That PattieHoney Day shall be celebrated each year on December 23rd. A day to come together with friends and family and have fellowship and tell each other how much you love and appreciate each other. No presents or formalities, that was to be left to the following two days. Pattie loved to be the center of attention and this is her way of leaving a legacy that we can always follow - PattieHoney Day December 23rd every year.

Pattie was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bobby Cashon.
