Patti Jo Smith

Patti Jo Smith, 59, of Stephenville passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 in Fort Worth. Services will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Martin and Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Clairette Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Patti was born on April 20, 1954 in Brady, TX to Paul Ray and Mary Ruth Johnson McIntyre. She was a 1972 graduate of Cooper High School and attended Tarleton State University. Patti married Larry D. Smith on May 16, 1974 in Abilene. She was the best wife, daughter, sister, mom, and friend, and most of all was a very devoted ‘Grammy'. She retired from Tarleton State University and Stephenville ISD. Patti was a member of First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, D Women and while attending Tarleton State University, was a member of the DST Sorority. Nothing in this world made her happier than being with her family taking care of her four grandkids and being at all their activities. Patti is survived by her husband, Larry D. Smith of Stephenville; mother, Mary Ruth McIntyre of Clyde; son, Cory and wife Kim Smith of Stephenville; daughter, Kaci and husband Wes Jones of Stephenville; grandchildren, Kali Smith, Caleb Smith, Connor Jones and Garrett Jones; sister, Karan and husband Steve Willis of Duncanville; sister-in-laws, Suzan and husband Ed Garner of Mullin, Sharon and husband Randy Mills of Hamilton and Sheila Dove of Fairfield. Patti was preceded in death by a grandson, Reid Alexander Jones on September 25, 2009, father Paul R. McIntyre on Oct 18, 2004; and brother in-law, Winfred Dove. The Smith family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Ronald McDonald House, 1001 8th Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104, or to the donor's favorite charity.
