Patricia Dawn Brown Cummings

Patricia Dawn Brown Cummings, 79, of Desdemona, died Friday, September 26, 2014 in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Howard Martin, officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Pat was born on June 21, 1935. She was married to Dr. G. A. ‘Arlie' Brown who preceded her in death in 1979, and later married Joe Frank Cummings. Pat was a member of the Desdemona Baptist Church, and active with the Desdemona Activity Center. She has spent most of her life in Erath/Eastland Counties. Pat was a homemaker and caregiver. Survivors include husband, Joe Cummings; sons, David and wife Michele Brown of Stephenville, and Steven and wife Sherri Brown of Sandia; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Curtis Gage, and Jon and wife Jessica Brown; great grandchildren, Brock, Brena, and Brystol; step-children, Georgia and husband David Crume of Lubbock, Jana and husband Art Cattrall of Washington DC, and Tommy Cummings of Desdemona; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cowan of Belton; and several nieces and nephews. The Cummings/Brown family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the G. A. Brown Scholarship at Tarleton State University.
