Orlene Laughlin

Orlene Laughlin, 86, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at her home in Morgan Mill, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday December 31, 2007 at the Morgan Mill Church of Christ with Frank Briscoe and Mitchell Greer officiating. Burial will follow at the Morgan Mill Cemetery in Morgan Mill, Texas. Mrs. Laughlin was born February 22, 1921 in Morgan Mill. She married Virgie Russell Laughlin on December 5, 1942 in Sacramento, California. She served as the Postal Clerk in Morgan Mill for 32 years until her retirement in 1980. A loving wife and mother, Orlene was actively involved in the community, her church and the family ranch. She is survived by her husband Russell Laughlin; son, Donnie Laughlin and wife Charlotte of Lubbock; daughters, Judy Richey and husband Phil of Brownwood, and Elaine Riddle and husband Alvin of Grandview; six grandchildren, Andy Laughlin and wife Gina of Lubbock, Amy Carranza and husband Joe of Cypress, Phyllis Havens and husband Zach of San Angelo, Mary Lynn Cox of Columbus, Georgia, Jennifer Krause and husband Steffen of Alexandria, Virginia and Kelly Riddle and wife Kristi of Waxahachie; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Earp and Medenia Pryor of Ft. Worth and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Armstrong Cantrell and brothers, Odell and Luther Cantrell.
